Living in Victoria has its perks. We have beautiful seascapes, great local artisans, farms looking for goat cuddlers (seriously)… We also have an ABUNDANCE of coffee shops. Like, damn good coffee shops.
WHERE ARE ALL MY “HAIR IS MY SECURITY BLANKET” LADIES AT?! You know who you are – you dread going to the hairdressers for fear of sitting silently in that chair while someone chops off your precious tresses as you silently scream (or in my case cry) as they totally mangle your beautiful locks. Yea, I’m talkin’ to you. Well grab a cup of tea, sit your butt down, and let me tell you about the goodness that is Serenity Salon.
Nothing can make you feel as good as a great haircut. Alternatively, nothing can make feel as sh*t as an awful haircut.
So I have this thing about sunsets (like most people probably). I love love love me a good sunset. Not like the clear sky sunsets but sunsets where clouds are splattered across the sky, painted in brilliant colours of pink, peach, and lilac. One thing I wish I enjoyed more were sunrises. I mean, it’s not that I DON’T enjoy essentially a reverse sunset (can I make that a thing?). It’s just that the sunrise ascends from the horizon just too goddamn early.

A few days ago, I let you guys in on my struggle to keep motivated to do the hobbies I love most. One of the hurdles I have to jump (which I didn’t touch on in the last post) was trying to explore Victoria without a car. Yes, the bus system here is great, but it just adds a layer of difficulty that isn’t present with the ease of having a car. Having said that, I do come across rare instances where I have access to a vehicle for a few days so I always make the most of it. The last such time, I headed to Crust Bakery.
I have walked up and down Fort Street SO MANY TIMES and I’ve always overlooked Crust Bakery. What a huge f*@!ing mistake. This quaint, artisan bakery and café is such a delight. Continue reading
