Living here in Nanaimo people from the praries and eastern Canada love to tell us how good we got it with our weather. It’s warm in the summer, but not too hot and cold in the winter but not too cold and we have a few days of snow. They also love to tell harrowing stories about how places like the inside of their throats would freeze when they stepped outside. Now, I’m not saying these people aren’t telling the truth but is has been COLD here ya’ll! I keep telling people that this is the COLDEST I”VE EVER FELT and then the harrowing stories come out. But the thing it if this is the only place i’ve ever been in winter, and it’s the coldest i’ve ever felt, aren’t we in the same boat coldness wise? We’re all even then right, if this is the coldest I’ve ever been? I am truly rambling and for that I apologize.
Like a true Island Girl I still feel the need to go to the beach in the winter in minus temperatures. The other day I wondered what Pipers Lagoon looks like when it’s miserable out. I was pleasantly surprised. Here is what I found:
I was blown away with the beauty that the beach still holds in the winter. I was bundled from head to toe, and I suggest doing the same thing if you want to enjoy your time at the beach this time of year.
