Guest Contributor | Carley Lee aka Little Bird Lee!

Hello there!

My name is Carley and I blog over at Little Bird Lee, a fashion and lifestyle blog where I explore and document my personal style, share recipes, DIY’s, and other exciting tidbits, and where I hope to inspire others to embrace the adventure in life.SONY DSC

When Sarah and Sean asked me to write a guest post here on LLN, I was so excited!

As a born-and-raised Nanaimoite, I believe everyone deserves to know how amazing Nanaimo is, and I absolutely love how Sarah and Sean are providing a place for people to discover this amazing city.

As soon as I was asked to guest post, I knew exactly what I wanted to write about. You see, there’s this little place that is kind of a big deal not only in my life, but in the lives of so many people who call Nanaimo home (and even those who live elsewhere), and that place is The Buzz Coffeehouse.DSC00498

The Buzz was a venture dreamt up by husband and wife team, Scott and Kara, and its doors officially opened in September 2007 (six years ago this past week!)

Since then, the Buzz has relocated to a beautiful new building on the extension of Dufferin Cr. and continues to serve (in my humble opinion) the best coffee in Nanaimo.Buzz2

Now, my opinion may be slightly biased. I have worked at the Buzz for five and half years. But even though I spend a lot of time working at the Buzz, I still love spending time there outside of my working hours. I’m pretty sure I spend more time there than I do at home. Well… maybe not quite that much, but it sometimes feels that way!

The Buzz is my favourite place to bring friends, have meetings, blog, and just hang out. The atmosphere really emulates West Coast culture, and we love treating our customers like family. On occasion, musicians (local, and traveling) will come through and share their talents, much to the enjoyment of customers and staff alike.BuzzShow

Using Moja Coffee out of North Vancouver, we strive to provide excellent coffee beverages, as well as a variety of tea and coffee alternatives (matcha, chai, rooibos, etc). With sweet and savoury snackables, the Buzz is the perfect place to stop for coffee and a treat on your way to work, or hang out with friends for a cozy evening by the fire.DSC00198

The Buzz is open 7:00am – 9:00pm Monday to Wednesday, and open 7:00am – 6:00pm Thursday – Saturday.

I would love if you stopped in to say hello! You can find the Buzz at 1861 Dufferin Cr. (across from the new Country Grocer).Buzz4

Have a lovely day fellow Nanimo-lovers!
