While Sean is off in the Big City this weekend, I am having a lazy weekend in Nanaimo. Lazy weekends for me call for hanging around a bonfire with friends, roasting marshmallows and chatting!
We played frisbee and hung out while the sun was setting. Even though it rained in the morning, it was a beautiful night for a fire. Don’t be dismayed if it’s raining in Nanaimo because the sun is always ready to pop out!
When I have a fire I always like making smores or roasting a hot dog over the fire, but this night I learned something that blew my bonfire mind! I learned about BANANA BOATS! If you have a fire this summer you MUST try banana boats!
To make a banana boat you first make a cut down the middle of the banana. Then, you fill it with chocolate chips and top it with marshmallows. Then you roll it up in tinfoil and put it in the fire for 5 minutes. When you unwrap it the chocolate has melted and the marshmallows are all gooey. It isn’t the prettiest so I don’t have a picture, but it is soooo tasty!
When you have bonfires, what do you like to cook up?
